So here is a breakdown on what is the warranty terms for Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) or Luxury Vinyl Tiles (LVT) and why.
For Roma and Milano Series: 25 years for Residential Flooring warranty 10 years for Commercial Flooring manufacturing warranty and 1 year workmanship warranty.
Residential Flooring Warranty: For flooring that is used for homes like HDB, Condo and Landed Properties
Commercial Flooring Warranty: This is for office or retail flooring
What is the difference between Residential and Commercial Flooring? Commercial flooring has heavier foot traffic because of how many people are expected to walk and the possibility of heavy loading and unloading of goods.
The Difference between Manufacturing and Workmanship warranty
Manufacturing Warranty: This covers the LVP itself. It covers the problem with clicking and the vinyl under normal use.
Workmanship Warranty: This covers the installation of flooring. If the installation of flooring comes with problems such as the gap between the 2 vinyl planks under reasonable circumstances.
What are normal circumstances?
If flooring is done in a dry place, with cleaning that only includes sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming with no oil-based floor detergent.
Steam Mop, Acid Wash, and oil base floor detergent will damage the top layer of coating. Therefore, not covered if your LVT or LVP is damaged.
Though flooding in Singapore is rarer as compared to our neighbouring countries, it will not be covered as LVP or LVT though being boasted as waterproof. However, the moisture will cause mouldiness in LVP.
